Why do we need to raise awareness in Zambia?
There is a real lack of health awareness messages to the general public in Zambia regarding TB. See below:

This collage of pictures shows 13 "messages", and is only a small sample of those seen in one short visit to Lusaka. Only two mention TB - one was outside a TB clinic, and one was inside! Of ALL the messages seen in three days the only ones which mentioned TB were at clinics - NONE were in areas where the general public at risk of TB might see them, while messages about HIV were everywhere. People are not aware of the symptoms of TB or that it is curable. This simple message could save lives.

“I think we can give TB the publicity that is needed to combat it effectively. In 1990 no one had come out publicly in southern Africa as being HIV positive and it was only after I did that AIDS was taken seriously especially in Zambia. Over the years I have helped fight HIV-related stigma and put a human face to it. I believe we can do that to TB.
