Some of the ways that TB Alert and Rotary work together are listed below. We are extremely grateful to the clubs who already work with us and would welcome collaborations with other clubs throughout the country.
Sponsor a Patient Support Fund for patients in your area
(read more about our patient support fund here). A £125 grant helps support a patient who is struggling through their TB treatment (which lasts at least 6 months). TB Nurses apply to TB Alert for support for their patients for travel costs to clinic, food to build better nutrition levels, warm clothing or extra money to pay the heating bill while they are at home and cannot work. Sponsor a volunteer caregiver in Zambia
(read more about our project in Zambia here). We are seeking Rotary clubs to raise £200 to sponsor a volunteer caregiver who looks after patients with TB and HIV in Zambia. Download our Rotary Sponsor a Caregiver Leaflet or email
- to request a hard copy of this leaflet.
Thank you to all the clubs who have sponsored caregivers - especially to Rotary Club of Chichester who sponsored 10 caregivers with an incredibly generous donation of £2,000.
Speakers for club meetings
TB Alert volunteer speakers regularly visit clubs to tell them about Tuberculosis and TB Alert's work in the UK and overseas. We have volunteers, including health professionals and people with direct experience of the disease, from Aberdeen to Brighton and Cardiff to London. We can bring a powerpoint presentation (if you have a laptop/projector kit) or give handouts and can tailor the talk from 15-45 minutes depending on the time available. To book a speaker email us or call Briggy Smale or Jules Sherwood on 01273 234784.
TB materials for Stroke and Health Awareness Days TB Alert can provide postcards designed specifically for Rotary Clubs, as well as posters about TB and pens which can ge given out to members of the public reminding them to THINK TB. See a sample of our postcard here.To order materials email us or call Briggy Smale or Jules Sherwood on 01273 234784. Thank you to the many clubs who have distributed our materials over the years.
Speakers for district conferences
With support for air fares (ideally this is most cost effective if several districts club together) we can provide a speaker with direct experience of our projects in India or Africa. UK volunteers can also bring a stand and information to your House of Friendship. For more information call Briggy or Jules on 01273 234784 or email
